Eliana Hope

Story

Our Story: Eliana’s Journey

At 17 weeks pregnant, our world was turned upside down when my waters unexpectedly ruptured. Doctors told us the chances of continuing the pregnancy were slim, but Eliana had other plans. I was placed on strict bedrest, and for two months, our little girl defied the odds. Despite everything, Eliana continued to grow and develop perfectly. Every scan showed us a strong heartbeat and a beautiful baby full of hope.

As we approached 23 weeks, we received a small glimmer of hope: I was preparing to be admitted to hospital, where we planned to stay for as long as we could — hoping to carry Eliana further, day by day, until she was ready to enter the world.

Then, at 23 weeks, I developed an infection that sent me into early labor. On that day, our beautiful Eliana was born silently into the world — too perfect and too precious for this earth. She was born sleeping, wrapped in love and heartbreak.

In the midst of our grief, we were surrounded by comfort, compassion and support through Bears of Hope. We received a beautiful Bears of Hope bag filled with thoughtful resources, information and sentimental gifts to help us navigate the unimaginable journey of loss. Among the most meaningful gifts was a little teddy bear, generously donated by another loss mumma. Knowing that this teddy had been lovingly chosen and given by someone who had experienced a similar loss brought us a sense of comfort and connection during such a heartbreaking time. We received emotional support through support counselling offered by Bears of Hope and were welcomed into a beautiful community helping us keep our daughters memory

These small acts of kindness reminded us that, even in our darkest moments, we were not alone.

Thanks so much for your support!
